Top 5 signs you are spending too much time on PB

Posted by KaraS on August 13, 2004, at 19:32:54

5) You think that everyone you meet is on anti-depressants and posts on Psycho-Babble.

4) You see someone who is very sharp mentally and you want to find out what they take to treat their brain fog.

3) Your apartment is in shambles, your finances are a mess and your "to do" list is growning exponentially, yet you sign on for your daily fix.

2) You're thinking about a Psycho-Babble convention.

1) You know what date Larry Hoover is expected back from vacation.

These are in no particular order:

- All of your conversations contain the words serotonin, norepinephrine and/or dopamine.

- You think that Psycho-Babble is the real world.

- You can't identify a picture of the President of the United States but you can immediately identify Dr. Bob (of course one might argue there's a good reason to be in denial on this one).

- You read a couple of old posts on the alternative board about the wisdom of a dog named Cletus and about eating a tube of Tom's of Maine toothpaste to fight mercury poisoning and you wonder, for a moment, if they're serious.

- You meet people with names like: guttersnipe, linkadge, King Vultan, zeugma, Ktemene, Sad Panda, Simus, crazychickuk, Chemist, Ame Sans Vie etc. and you don't bat an eye. In fact, you envy them for their creativity.

- You make lists like this one.

Oops, that's six more, not five. I really have to get a life!!!

You have one! You have a family and you've beat the depression. You're health is improving and you're in the process of getting your mind back to it's full capacity. You're well on your way to having it all again! (So in the process you like to spend a little time here with us...)

i Hope this doesnt get transfered to another group, because my question applys to you folks.

regarding your relationships, are more of your with someone who is somewhat society's norm? Or are you matched with a mental ilness person?

I wonder what is a better match. Two illness mates can understand and support each other. IE communicated meds like we do.

A normal / meental ill person is a person of rational behavior to deal with. However they lack a deep understanding of what this hassle is about.

Anythoughts from you med takers?
