Lithium Orotate ... should I go ahead?

Posted by taylor18 on July 26, 2004, at 2:33:24

I'm debating whether or not I should give lithium orotate a try.

It seems to have a lot of contraindications, if that's the right word:

Lithium should not be used by individuals with significant renal or cardiovascular diseases, severe debilitation or dehydration, or sodium depletion, and by individuals who are taking diuretics or ACE inhibitors. Consult your doctor before use if you are taking anti-hypertensive drugs, anti-inflammatory drugs, analgesic drugs or insulin. Lithium should not be used by pregnant women and breast-feeding mothers.

I'm wondering if it could cause fainting, dizziness, weakness, etc. any of those things I would think might intuitively happen.

Also wondering if it's safe to take 1 or 2 capsules on a daily basis.

Hello -

I take lithium orotate 4 x 120mg pills a day and am doing fairly well on it. No side effects. The amount of actual lithium in the pills is very small - no worries if you ask me. I say go ahead. TAke Vit C to help your body absorb it better as well.

Take care
