Niacin ,pellagra and mental illness

50% of the people in mental asylams used to have an unknown illness called pellagra.It is caused by a niacin shortage in the diet.It is needed to make NAD.ATP can not be made without NAD.This shows that an energy shortage does lead to mental illness.causes cell malfunction.b1 and B2 are also needed.
