I would like to look into trying Inositol for my depression as I have had pretty bad luck with AD's so far.
I have read that studies have shown 12 grams a day of Inositol to be effective.
Should I buy an Inositol product with IP-6 added to it? Or should I just buy the pure Inositol with nothing else added?
I think the studies done have used only Inositol without the IP-6 added, but I just want to make sure.
Is there a specific type or brand of Inositol that might be more effective?
Any other tips in trying to use Inositol as a supplement for my depression? Would using 12 grams be safe?
Thanks!

There is an Indian Dr. at the University of Maryland and he disovered IP6.He has inositol with IP6.Inositol and IP6 can be turned into each other.Inositol makes pip1,pip2,ip3,ip4,ip5ip6,ip7,and DAG.They are second messengers.Dipression appears to invole overactivity of brain cells and the left amgdala. There may be 3 kinds of depression.Look at NE breakdown to see which one.No one knows for sure how inositol helps depression, ocd and panic. It appears to stop brain cell kindling.I would talk to Ben gurion University in Isreal. They are doing clinical trails. Also DR. York at Duke U. is doing research on inositol.Be sure that you do not use the inositol that lowers colestroil. You can not take a lot of it are it will harm the liver.Lechtisn has inositol and choline.
