Poet posted something to psychology about it being a picture of snow / ice that Bob took on the Babble meet.

First of all, Alex, thanks for asking.

:-)

I have been riding a pendulum of changing depression severity lately. I am hoping that increasing the dosage of prazosin from 25 mg/day to 30 mg/day will help to stabilize things. Beyond that, I must rely on my doctor to come up with a new treatment strategy. It may be that he will accede to my wishes to go to 40 mg/day if I haven't improved by next week. I am hopeful that this won't be necessary, though.

I want to start dating again, but the prazosin obliterates my sex drive. I am afraid to approach a relationship because of how much baggage I am laden with. Without a sex drive, and with my medical and vocational history, what else can I offer? I don't feel like being rejected. It seems like such a sure thing that this would happen. Even with all of this, I am still tempted to make a phone call tomorrow night to a woman whose number I was given via her mother. I must be crazy.

I hope you are well.

I hear you on the relationship / baggage thing. Maybe... What is unusual... Isn't that you have baggage... But that you are aware that you have baggage.

The sex drive thing... Might impact on a one night stand. I don't think it would impact on a relationship, though. I think that most relationships these days progress faster than is good for their long term interests...

You are a kind, compassionate, intelligent guy. These qualities are a whole heap rarer than you might think. Even if the 'relationship' thing doesn't work out... Quality friendships are also worthwhile...

And you seem to have an interest...

So, go for it, I say. I have my fingers crossed for you. Not for you... So much as that the other person turns out to be worth your time :)

I am doing well, yep. Thanks for asking. Turns out I do not need to learn the ideal gas law (at this stage anyways). I don't know what the f*ck a constant is supposed to be... So... It is probably for the best... Thanks for asking.

Thanks, Alex. I don't know what else to say. You have been very helpful to me.

Be well and have a good day.
