Lou, why do you refuse to call Dr. Bob by his appropriate title? He is a doctor, not a mister. If I were Dr. Bob, I would feel very disrespected.

Perhaps Dr. Bob will weigh in on this one.

Best,
EE

EE,
Actually, I do that to protect Mr. Hsiung. You see, there could be a hypothetical jurisdiction, and I do not know all of the 300 jurisdiction's laws, that could, and this might be far-fetched, prosecute Mr. Hsiung if he represents himself as a doctor here by giving medical advice, perhaps through a member, or allowing a member to give advice about drugs, that someone acted on and was harmed. I am trying to show that he is not a doctor here, even though he is a doctor outside of this forum. If he is not a doctor here, then he is not practicing medicine here.

EE,
You could have some additional insight now as to why I post the warnings about combinations of drugs that could cause death and the other warnings that the drugs can cause a life-ruining condition or addiction or induce a mind-set that could cause the taker of the drug to want to kill themselves and/or others.
You see, there are facts that show that the drugs can do such and I feel that as a member I could be of some help here to point those things out. You see, all of the harm that mind-altering drugs could cause is IMHO part of the forum called {medicines} here. The harm that they could cause I can not ignore, for the harm could be not reversible or the harm could even be death.
You see, if someone posts about the harm that these drugs posted about here could do to adults , to children, to the unborn, to the new born and to the elderly, then I think that I am protecting the members here from any accusation that the forum does not allow me to do that. Even if I am the lone descenter, there is at least one member poiting out here the potential harm from psychotropic drugs. You see, I am trying to save lives.

I am all but sure that Dr. Hsiung has an intact ego and will not be upset by being a Mr. every now and then. However, I was brought up to demonstrate a respect for the education and role that a doctor plays in society. I believe there was a time when Lou Pilder did refer to the doctor as Dr.

I would feel disrespected for a few reasons. First, Dr. Bob went to school for many years and worked very hard to earn his degree. To deny that fact is disrespectful. It would be less of an issue if Lou referred to him simply as Bob, but calling him Mr. is seems like Lou is trying to make some sort of statement.

Also, I think we all have a right to be called what we want to be called. If Dr. Bob wanted to be called Mr. Bob, he would call his website Mr. Bobs Psychobabble. He prefers to be called Dr. Bob. It would be like if your name were James and a coworker insisted on calling you Jimmy. Disrespectful.

In the grand scheme of things, it isnt that important. I dont need to fight Dr. Bobs battles for him. But it was getting under my skin.

Best,
EE

Well I thought Lou was implying something but I didn't know what. For all I know he is referring to the essential equality of all before God. I was brought up to respect titles.

Sig,
You wrote,[...the essential equality before God...].
Thanks, I think that's good.
