As scratchpad said, I'm glad you're doing what's best for you. I very much appreciate all you've done as a deputy. You put a lot of time into it, and I've valued and will miss your voice in our discussions. I'm grateful especially that you took a leave from your leave when I disappeared.

I think Babble benefited from having you as a deputy. I definitely did.

I want to thank you again (see below) for being a deputy and also for having kept this site going, and going well.

I don't think I as a poster can really appreciate the fully quality of your contribution, especially because you haven't been as active as a deputy while I've been here--but I very much enjoyed reading Dinah's post.

I hope you stay around, as GG or as someone else-- because I feel as if I never got to know you as much as I would have liked.

Honore

Everything Dinah said.

Everything Bob said.

Everything nice anyone has said or will say.

Me, too.

I can't say any more for myself right now, it's too hard :-(

But you know how I feel. see ya' round

Thanks everyone!

I'm moved and honored by your comments. Thank you all. This is a great community, and I've gained so much from being a part of it. Which means I'm probably not going anywhere as a member. It's too hard to give up the support and friendships. :) But I haven't decided about my name yet.

Thanks again. :)

Of course you know that I never wanted you to become a deputy in the first place cuz the pay sucks, the hours suck and the aggravation is unlimited. But, as most people do - you ignored my sage advice!! :-)

I'm glad you will have less stress in your life. I do so wish your reign had ended on a happier note. It's been so sad on Admin lately. Hopefully you can remember the good days...like when, you ask? Um,....I'll get back to you!

hugs, emmy

Phillipa, thanks for your caring and understanding. Babble wouldn't be the same without your friendliness, and I've appreciated that. :)

Sunnydays, thanks for the hug, and your words mean a lot to me. For now, I'm not going anywhere, so you're stuck with me. :)

Muffy, endings are hard, aren't they? I'm a teeny bit sad about this ending (as deputy), too. I've appreciated all of your kind words.

But this one's not a total ending. I've decided I'm not going anywhere. And for now I have no plans to change my name. If I did, I would be inclined to change it to something that would still allow folks to know it's me. At least that's where my head's at right now.

Warmly,

gg

I'm so honored by your words. Thank you for posting them. You and I worked very well together, and that doesn't happen every day. I'll miss the camaraderie, the dialogs, your wisdom and input, and just knowing you were there for me. But the best part is that I gained a lovely friend who has all those qualities I appreciated as a deputy. And more.

Okay, not quite so speechless, but this is sort of short for me. :)

With great affection and respect,

gg

Thanks, SP. I've had this in mind for sometime, so I guess I got the blubbering out of the way earlier, maybe. Your input based on your experience was very helpful, and I appreciate your generous sharing.

It's getting too hot to dance already today. Perhaps just our own little seated hand jive? Oh lordy am I dating myself.

Thank you for those kind words, Dr. Bob. And thanks for the opportunity to help. I learned a lot and benefited as well.

I would imagine there might be some instances of my "voice" that perhaps you didn't appreciate. I admire your ability to stay in your role even in the midst of tantrums and such. ;)

With appreciation,

Honore, what a kind and generous post. (Am I channeling Natalie Merchant?) ;) Seriously, thank you for saying that. I've enjoyed getting to know you better recently, and I hope that I'll have time to do more of that now.

MidnightBlue, thanks. I think I'm sticking around, though I'll have to be a bit more disciplined with my time. I've always enjoyed your posts and chatting with you. :)

Tofubutt, yes, you did advise against it. I forget, did you even say I was crazy? ;) Your advice was spot on in ways, though there have been positives to my "reign" (rhymes with "deign"?), too. And it's not ending on a negative note. It feels good to have made a decision just for me, and followed through with it. Progress, eh? Thank you my dear friend.

Best regards,

gg

I hope you do still post gg, even if it's under a different name, because you're a HUGE part of the voice of Babble. Without your courage and your humanity and your ability to step in and say what you're thinking and feeling, none of us would have been able to progress in the same way.
I appreciate your being here very much and if you stop posting I think I might even miss you .. which is incredible really because I don't come around very often anymore, thank God for that...

GG and yes you DO have a lot of wisdom

And in the remembering of these days on Babble, past and present, you know as you get older the memories will honestly get Sweeter. And that's true.

GG,

I only "tune in" sporadically so I probably don't know you as well as the others, but, I actually do look at posts that have your name when browsing the posts. It's very sad to think that you won't be there. In the few times that we've communicated on the boards I've felt that we were on the same wavelength and that you had been helpful about explaining some neuro and psychological stuff. I really hate to lose a contact - tend to be sad about "good-bys" anyway.

Nonetheless, I know from first hand experience that completing something and moving to new ventures can be good for the psyche. Education is important and it can be a helpful step towards positioning one's self in terms of more opportunities and satisfaction.

Stay well and I hope you are in touch from time to time.

SP

Hi Lonely,
Thanks for your thoughtful message. It's a welcome surprise. :)

I remember talking about the neuro stuff and other topics. I hope things have improved for you and your family. And thanks for sharing about your experience with transitions. They tend to find me with knees knocking, so it's good to hear positive reinforcement.

Thanks again,

I just wandered over to this board tonight and only just now saw this.

I'll miss you as a deputy and hope I don't have to miss you as a poster. I've enjoyed reading your posts and being on this therapy journey with you for a while.

And I agree with Muffled that you did an amazing job of getting a complete sentence out of Dr. Bob. LOL

Take care,
