May a poster operate a business in chatroom?

If it is not being used by others might one offer services in the chat room? I believe previously you have said posters might advertise their businesses on the board.

What if only free samples were given rather than exchanging money? That would be more like an advertisement.

When people are talking to themselves in chat is there a record of it left?

What are these fingerprints of which you speak? Are they the words themselves or just a record of who was posting at that time?

Does Dr Bob keep a record of who is in chat and who chats with whom? If so does he have the right to use that information in his research or other writings/presentations?

The server keeps a log of who goes to chat, but not what's said. Unless I'm trying to fix something and need to know in more detail what's going on. I think if I was going to use chat information for research purposes, I'd need to ask for permission.

The fingerprint is the letters and numbers at the top of the transcript, "guSCYhqWQa5VKK5njp1EYdrSy0Y" or whatever.

May the chat rooms be used for exploratory committees?
