Dr Bob,with respect i understand you offer this site as a support system,However i fail to believe you do not also use the ownership of it in some respect in your career,of course this is more likly a question.
Now to the main point of this post,i feel many people have bared there souls here,and i am disapointed everytime i see a response from you.
I am truly starting to believe the majority of them are simply AUTO RESPONSES,which i find very hurtful when your name exhibits the title of the site.
I mean you,and again just my feeling alone,that you seem to address in a very cold manner,your comments are auto,show no compassion,empthay,or anything really.
I heard you use the explanitation that the site has simply become to large for you to maintin otherwise,wel if thats the case then again i find it hard to believe a site with so many hits is just a hobby for you.We bear our souls but we know nothing about the use of this site,the information above,the FAQ is very general,why cant we like in the old days here Dr.Bob come out and speak,where are you Dr.bob?
This site has got to be able to generate revenue,which in turn would allow you to add extra additional staff,not members,but actual staff who have creditanials other than being long time members and actualy particpate themselves in posts.
I dont know just something i noticed,either way i see lots of things that a site with such a hit value a day cant change its layout,can incorparete new rules and ways of doing things,rather seem to have not changed a bit since it started.
I have a free webpage,and i change that randomly as i see it easier to manuver.
Just some thoughts,hope i wasnt uncivil because i really dont know any other way to have expressed the thoughts i was having,if you feel i was being uncivil,please instead of simply stating that,rather show me how i could have presented these thoughts in the manner allowed.

Aspects of administration like redirecting are in fact kind of routine, and in other cases I think consistency is important, which may make me seem auto.

Maybe revenue isn't as high a priority as it should be. The new Google ads generate some, but not enough to hire anyone...

Thank Dr.Bob for responding,i honestly cant provide much input without thought,but how about a ask Dr.Bob segment,a section where questions addressed to you aside from admin,and in no way ACTUAL repleacment for medical treatment,but still a view from you.
Many questions could be posted,HOWEVER we would understand that certain ones would be chosen at random,i think we like to see a more personal side of you Dr.Bob,i know i would.
Just an idea.

Well I dunno if this is on topic.
But I had alot of fear of Bob, cuz he had the power to block. And while I still have times when this is an issue, mostly its not now.
So the thing is, this is Bobs site. Often has Bobs pic, it is run by Bob, in the way he chooses.
So when you invest personal 'stuff' here, it became rather an issue to me about "WHO?" the owner was? What was his motivation in running this site?
Altruistic?
Research?
Entertainment?
WHAT?
Did he mess with our heads on purpose with some of his odd questions?
Am I just a lab rat for him to experiment on?
Being as I spent a fair amt of time here, it became quite an issue for me.
So to be on the safe side I decided to hate Bob, and the site was a place of fear and suspicion. Not very safe.
BUT
I HAVE occasionally had glimpses of who Bob might be.
Seconhand info from others.
Sometimes he gives slightly longer answers on admin.(NOT often)
Then sometimes in chat esp, he'll act actually like he's a human being....
SO
the point of this long winded thing, is that I agree with Willyee that it would be good for Bob to show a bit more of himself for the reasons stated by my longwinded post.
I understand that he needs to keep very strong boundaries for safety personally, legally, professionally, physically etc.
But mebbe just a few more peeks now and again might be useful.
I dunno.
Mebbe someone could explain this better than I.

But please don't take this personally, this doesn't mean I don't like you or think you're a bad person.

The whole point of my post re:Bob WAS Babble!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was not about Bob the person, so much as Bob the administrator, and how it could be facilitating to the comfort of posters if they could see that the power behind the babble site, was in fact a regular person with feelings and caring etc.
When you don't expose ANY of yourself you come across as an unfeeling and possibly uncaring, and scarey.
Guess its a balancing act or something, I dunno.
But that may just be MY stuff showing?
But I think sadly that there's lotsa people here who have trusting issues.

Just re-read post. Actually I DO have some interest in Bob the person, in that you say some odd things (IMHO ONLY of course). And then I start to think, he's human, has weaknessess, and I do care for humans. So I reckon if you are in fact human, I DO care, just like I care bout all babblers, Adminstrator included.
