chat needs some medical attention, it was very mentally slow tonight and was kicking us around. Do you think there is hope?

What do you mean by "mentally slow"?

It was talking such a long time for us to type messages and to get them to show up. I was teasing that chat had a foggy brain last night.

Chat seems like it may be overloaded at times, and it is very slow still.

I think it was, and it may have had to do with the new "show all" function here, so I've disabled that for now.

surely there must be another way to improve speed than to take away useful functions of your boards?
the show all feature helps to get a more comprehensive picture of a thread, especially ones that span several years. it is far easier to open four tabbed windows showing 100 posts per thread than to open individual posts (over 400 at times!!) tab by tab, window by window.
please research another solution for this speed issue.
the timing is interesting with the loss of this feature currently with the alleged loss of two young babblers. what if their families wanted to gather their threads for personal reasons?
those in mourning might need to see ALL the words of those gone in order to process their grief.
some may need to talk or type out their grief....chat.....great!
but how about those who need to read words from this site for their healing?
assist your community, your babblers, in this time of grief do not hinder their grieving....please.

Chat still seems rather erratic. Was not so good this a.m., but then seemed to settle down. I dunno what changed?
Sometimes I have a hard time loading babble at all.
Is this a matter of you needing an updated server? Mebbe its just getting all bogged down?
Dunno?

*there may be, but computers are tricky

Hope Bob is able to bring it back eventually.

It may take longer, but perhaps that might be good in a way....
>

>

>
> assist your community, your babblers, in this time of grief do not hinder their grieving....please.**Each persons process is their own.
It is hard, painful, and human interaction, and life is full of pitfalls. We just goto do the best we are able to at the time.
And try not to add to others pain by lashing out in our own.
Or bringing others into our vortex of swirling confusion.
We are each responsible for ourselves.
We need to try and extend dignity and kindness to others.
We are all human, we all have failings.
Even Bob.
DEFINATELY me.
I just want there to be less pain and hurt, and more caring.
Change is good, but not if others get trampled in the process.
Some are being trampled IMO.
Some alive or dead are being dissed IMO.
And I feel sad.
Cuz don't we all just wanto feel loved accepted safe?
As much as is possible in this fallen world :(
I just sad.
Very very sad.

(((((((((((muffled)))))))))))))
I too wish there could be happiness in the world, and that everyone could feel loved, accepted, and safe. It's so hard that there are so many individual ways people have to go about finding that and everyone has to find the way that works for them. I just hope everyone is able to find that way.
