I agree with Dinah.
Once a comment receives replies, then the abiity to change it can cause *huge* amounts of confusion.
Bad idea in my opinion

I really think an edit function would lead to a LOT of problems.

How about allowing an edit function for up to an hour? That way there will be fewer if any responses and it would allow for poster remorse.
