Dr. Bob,
Could you add a preview page to the Babblemail feature to preview it before confirming the submittal? I like how that works on regular posting on the boards.Curtm

Sorry, but I know how this server will format posts, but can't predict how email programs will format babblemail...

hence... why can't we have a 'confirm post' option on babblemail like we have a 'confirm post' option on babble posts?

And your email program does have a preview option?

hi Bob,
my issue is that the babblemail window is small.
Everyonce in a while, I write a big long babblemail.
then I'm at the bottom of the window.and I don't know how long it is, cause I can't see the top anymore.
I don't know how coherent it is, becuase "out of sight, out of mind"
And I like to do a last grammar and civility check before the babblemail flies off to bonk someone in the head in their email inbox.
that's all. I don't care about the font, or the tabs or the margins. just hte content of the text, and whether it forms a coherent and civil message.
thanks,
-ll

Babblemail does not have a preview/confirm option, though. I think you may be missing my point?

What if I just make it larger? That would be a lot easier. How many lines would you like?

Hi Dr. Bob. let's see how many lines this is: in increments of 10 lines

40 I guess that's pretty good. Forty lines. Thanks! You may want to take another vote, though. Is it really hard to program in a preview function? for revising babblemail? just like a regular babble post? If it is, I understand. bigger window is a good compromise for me. I don't know about others though. It's curtm's thread.-ll

I generally write any long emails or Babblemails in Word, then paste them into the Babblemail window or my email message 'Compose' window. So another option is to use your favorite word processor, where you can save, edit, spell check, see the whole message, etc. Not to mention save it for the purpose of 'cooling off' and going back later to see if you should really send it...:-)
I do that for some of the reasons mentioned here, and also because my ISP is currently a little finicky and I can (and do)lose my internet connection at any time - suddenly. And I often just don't have the energy to recreate an entire, lenghty message I've just lost.
But that's just me. I know that might not be convenient or desireable for some. And it doesn't mean there isn't always room for tweaking Babblemail to make it better/easier to use.

yes, 10derheart.
this is a good idea.I wish i had more good ideas like that.
mostly, my long babblemails start off with the intention of getting a quick little line off to a buddy. and then... 30 minutes later, I'm astounded at my ability to go blah blah blah.
I'm just lazy. too lazy and preoccupied to edit in a small window, much less do the copy paste thing. I feel bad admitting it, but maybe I want it to be easier for lazy people like me. Sometimes I genuinely have very little cognitive juice. that's a bad situation, which could be helped by some enlargement of babblemail box. Lately-- not so much a problem for me personally. just lazy apathy.

I understand completely, I am known as the Ultimate Queen of Lazy - often :-( (and the sad thing is, that's when I'm *not* depressed)
It's just become a habit now, formed after losing messages and feeling so frustrated and too tired (lazy?) to re-type them. I open MS Word evey time I'm on Babble....just in case.
And you have plenty of good ideas.

OK, any other votes?

I wouldn't call it really hard, but this would happen faster...
