If a person realizes they made some kind of *honest* mistake, boo-boo in a post, is there some way a person can delete it? In other words, can a person delete their own posts?
I only ask because I myself messed up trying to flag a poster - I wound up flagging myself, and am curious to know if I can delete that one? Thanks.

generally speaking no you can't. sometimes bob or the deputies will delete repeated posts (happen accidentally sometimes). you can appeal to bob if someone discloses identifying information or personal correspondance or if you have posted identifying information and have changed your mind.
people often make mistakes directing posts to the previous poster... you need to check that you hit 'reply' to the post of the person who you wanted to direct the post to...
generally... bob is very reluctant to delete / alter posts.
been the cause of many tears.

Hi there, thanks so much for replying to my admin questions! You know A LOT about how these boards work - I'm just curious have you been on them a long time and/or are you a deputy administrator -- just wondering how you got to know all the things you know here! :-) Thanks!

I used to ask the same questions. I think I was here for about a year before I discovered Babblemail. I guess I've been here for a couple of years now. You get the hang of it :-)

Hi there,
I was a *regular* here a number of years ago, but a variety of factors kind of *took me away* and now I'm able to return -- and there have been so MANY (and I mean A LOT!) wonderful changes since then that I feel like a newbie all over again, lol. And you're right - I will have to "get the hang of it" (all over again!)
Thanks for your replies to my questions here.
This is the end of the thread.
