Or did part of a thread get deleted from here?
I didn't think that happened over here :-(
Or maybe I'm imagining things...
I can't tell.

No, I believe it's because there was a direct link in that thread to The Other Site remarking on PB and that's the no-no. I think I saw this happen once before. It's just as well Alexandra.

Or it could be because a blocked poster was posting under a new name? I've seen posts deleted for that reason, too.

Just thought I'd reassure you, alex. You're not nuts. Just nutty?

What!? We're all not nuts?! Some ONLY nutty.....well.....{splutter}....{stammer}...okay then, gg, if you say so. You know best.
Seriously....I realized that part of the thread was removed today, too. I think the reasons you and pc said both are probably correct...and good ones, IMO. Maybe I'm just getting weary/paranoid over here...but it really, really is for the best.

That's why. Sorry, I should've mentioned that in my post on Newbies...

Glad someone explained it all, but if you find that you are going nuts, you can join me. We can be Mixed Nuts.
I'm a filbert, by the way -- little and round -- also known as a hazelnut. You could be a cashew, maybe, or an almond? Or you could be a filbert, too, since we're so good in chocolate!

I feel like disappearing posts should concern me more, but they don't. I seem to have a very short memory span or something. It almost feels like I'm a citizen living in the society described in the book "1984". Parts of history are erased and simply re-made. I'm kind of going along with it. What's that term they used to describe that technique of thinking again?? It is like the posts never existed and, paradoxically, I feel *less* paranoid by not seeing the "forbidden" message. Weird no?
Golly, I sure do hope Big Brother is indeed benevolent. LOL
Um, of course 2+2=5!

I've had that happen too. I attributed it to my forgetfulness
Maybe I'm not insane...

I can see why you would want to remove posts from posters who have been blocked.
But other posters posted to that thread too.
And their posts disappeared as well.I would have preferred to have seen it play itself out.
Still... I guess it doesn't happen very often - it is the first time I've noticed.

A little while ago I would have said cashew - but I ate a few too many of those and now I'm onto pistachio's. Mmm pistachios. I guess I'll have to be one of those :-)

I just think that it is rather a lot 1984.
Rewriting history.
:-(
I don't like it.

No, they probably wouldn't. And that is why I didn't think you removed posts. Why you have been so reluctant to delete posts even when some people felt really offended by them. I thought posts only disappeared if they were grossly offensive.

But I'm not sure if discussions with every other post deleted would make that much sense, either...For what it's worth to you Dr. Bob, I find it very offensive that people post under other names while they are blocked, especially considering the other blocked posters do not have a voice, that's the point of being blocked. I think it's fitting that the posts are deleted. I don't consider it a frightening rewrite of history any more than refusing to publish or retracting a news article written under false pretenses would be.

I'm not worried about the blocked poster. I'm worried about the other posters who also had their posts removed.

Pardon my assumption, but this does seem to be referring to my post.
I wasn't referring to, or concerned about what you prefer Alex, there were other posts on the subject. Taking the other posts down as well seems only sensible to me, and not a harbinger of doom.
Please don't consider any of my other posts, which may be on a the same thread yours, to be a response to you, either directly or surreptitiously. I have no desire to reengage in a passive aggressive manner.

My understanding is that even though Gabbi has requested that I not post to her if she directs a post to me then I have a right of response to that post. I would just like to respond to this bit:
> Pardon my assumption
Please don't make assumptions about me.
The assumption was incorrect.I have no desire to keep going around and around either. Lets just ignore each others posts - ok?

I should not have said that, because it's not true.
This is the end of the thread.
