I've had about enough.
"I am reminded of a group of people, all in a row, fingers in their ears, chanting, "There is no dissent in Psych Central Land! La La La La La La Laaa!"

I'm not a mod, but I think that opinions that people offer should be tolerated and respected. Once Dr Bob advised me not to read posts that upset me. Maybe that would apply here?

Emmy, I'm sorry that you upset by all this. I really am. We are both passionate in our beliefs, and anything I have said was never meant to generalize to anyone who has feelings for Doc John. I know you do. I know you have a great fondness for him.
Please accept my humble apology for hurting you. It was not an intention of anything I said, but I must accept that my intent does not prevent others from being affected.
Again, I humbly apologize to you. I humbly apologize to anyone else caught up in my dispute with Doc John.
Regards,
Lar

I have no idea why complaining to Dr Bob about one of your posts would lift my Do Not Post to me request. If so, I'd like to reinstate it now.

Agree to not discuss Psych Central over here.
The reason I chose not to stay around there when I visited a fair while back was the fact that it seemed fine to say whatever anyone wanted to about this place.. The words used really got to me, and so I decided to not visit there (other than occasionally to look at a specific post someone may point me to).
I would hate to see this place go the same way with lots of negative comments about Psych central.
Maybe it healthier all round to keep PC business at PC, and PB business at PB.

I would agree with that if I hadn't read a thread on the 2000 board about a couple who had announced their coupledness??
Not only was that thread very exclusionary to the rest of the posters here, but it led me to the other site so I could find out for myself who on earth the 2000 board were referring to.There has to be open discussion here, or rifts will continue. To deny the existence of another MH board is a form of censure, IMO.

Maybe it's at least worth having it clarified where the lines are drawn, as far as expression of opinions. I have taken the rules to permit divergent opinions, but not necessarily sarcasm. Sarcasm and other disparagement is still used of course, but not when it applies to anyone specific here (Dr. Grohol would seem to qualify as "here" by now, due to the feelings of some dual members) or something/someone like politics and political candidates. Maybe this is similar?

Dr. Bob I do remember you reminding people to be civil regarding the BenzoUK site, because there may be posters at both sites. Would this be any different? I have to say I'm tired of the ongoing jabs too, I don't want the people I care about from Grohols site feel that they aren't welcome here. Actually I think it's time for a babble break for me.

I just hate seeing people hurt every single time that place is mentioned.. and the post on 2000 (which was about one of the old members, and by someone who I think only relaly posts on 2000.. but I'm not excusing anything) is included in that..
I don't know what the answer is.. Maybe I just want to play Ostrich and hide my head in the sand.. and knowing I'm too damned nosey to stay out of threads here *LOL*

Of course it does, but the cyber-turf war between P.C and P.B has been going on for a while, I wasn't speaking specifically about you, this is just the latest opportunity to re ignite it, it seems.

Wow.. I must be out of the loop- Is there a "war of the psych worlds" going on?
Pb vs. Pc?
I don't even know what PC is... but this is better than a soap opera.
And for what it's worth (which is likely little), I have MUCH respect for any man that apologizes in such a humble way.
Larry, that didn't go unnoticed.

Emmy, I'm not sure that it violates PB civility guidelines. Could you wait for a ruling by Dr. Bob? To my recollection, last time this came up only very specific comments were PBC'd. But perhaps Dr. Bob would like to take this opportunity to clarify the rules, and I'm not clear enough on them to make a judgement.

Lar, a post *about* your post wouldn't lift the "do not post". Only a post directed toward you very directly would lift the "do not post".
On the other side of it, you can comment on Emmy's posts. But you can't post directly to her, with or without checking the "add name of previous poster box".
It was a lovely apology, but please don't post to Emmy unless she lifts the "do not post". By the way, it would have been perfectly ok to post the apology if you hadn't "spoken" directly to Emmy in it.

Any transgression of the rules was inadvertent, and I again apologize for my actions.
