Thanks for the info but I don't think I was observant enough to notice you were posting your name 2 different ways.

I presumed most people weren't.. but I received an email asking me about it, so thought I would also explain in public!!!

I'm not even sure why I distinguish between work and home *L*

I catch myself sometimes starting to sign with my real name instead of my posting name. I'm sure some day it will happen.

AG,
I worry about that too. And at times I start to sign gg IRL.

Identify confusion...a side effect of the net? ;)

Maybe a side effect of addiction to the net? jk lol!!! I haven't done that one yet surprisingly with the amount of time I spend on here.

The distinction is normal. You're "laying low" at work.

This *is* my real name *l*

The worst for me, every now and again I will send a professional work email, and sign it

"Nikki xxx"

You do NOT sign emails to the IT director with some kisses on the end *L*

You only start? That's pretty good. I actually do it. So I have a whole standardized excuse on why I sometimes call myself Dinah. lol.

Oh heavens. I remember the time I made that error with my therapist. He was enormously alarmed! "So... Would you like me to call you Dinah?" (a bit too calmly).

Dinah

I can only imagine what your T must have been thinking. lol!!! Does this mean that Dinah is not your real name? If not, I'm surprised, I assumed it to be so and what is the significance of your posting name?

No, Dinah isn't my real name. It has no real significance, except it's a name I thought suited me. :)

Dinah

Thank you for the clarification. I guess you learn something new every day. I assumed when a poster uses an actual name, that it is their real name. I should not be so quick to make these assumptions in the future.
