Is there a time limit to which someone can go back to make a comment on an older thread? I am not referring to my comment directed at what I felt was one poster putting another down but in replying to the subject of the thread itself? Maybe a new comment could spark new interest in the thread. Not all posters are present when the thread was *alive*. What if I was a *newbie* to PB or even just to that one board, would it not be appropriate to resurrect an older thread? I do think, that it could possibly be inappropriate to resurrect a thread from a year ago, that a new thread should be started but what about a thread from a couple of weeks ago, or a month? Is there a cut-off time that is deemed preferrable to start a new thread on the subject?

Fallen
Thank you for your response. I've been reluctant up to now to comment on threads that ended before I saw them for the first time. Are you also saying that it would be considered ok to ressurect a thread from perhaps a year ago? I do not have anything in mind, I'm just inquiring.

Its fine to do that under the rules.. there have been posts of mine that have been bought up and asked for a clarification on over a year after they were posted!
Just remember that new rules aren't applied retrospectively.. so you can't ask that a new rule be applied for a post made before the rule came into force..
All very confusing I know!!

Point taken Nikki, thanks for that info on the rules. It's good to know that you can bring up an old post if you like. I always assumed that it might tick people off to do so. I'm glad my assumption was wrong.
Thanks fallen and Nikki for your responses. :)
