Bob - I see that you blocked him for 1 week. His threat of "I will find him" to Chemist seems to be the sort of thing you should ban someone for permanently. To me, that sounds like a physical threat. To equate that, in a 1 week block, to the same as saying "a$$" seems too lenient.
I don't wanna play with any poster who threatens a friend. Not now, and not in one week.

I do see that what was posted was unacceptable but I also think that we simply do not know what is going on for that poster.
Maybe he doesn't belong here, but maybe he has to learn what is and is not acceptable the hard way.
I am not sure whether it was intended as a personal threat or not or whether it was serious or not but either way our anonymity protects us.I have posted many things that I regret.
I do see that they are regretable and it is in virtue of that I would like to think that other people may forgive me.
Why don't we just wait to see whether he returns or not and if he does return wait to see what he has to say.
That was twice - two things that breached civility. I think the length of the block stacks up more as the infractions accumulate. And if we consider that his intentions (with respect to the threat) may well be ambiguous isn't it better to give someone the benefit of the doubt?
He seems to me to be someone very much in need of some support. Maybe he just doesn't know how to go about getting that.
We could try to help him... But then again, we could simply ignore him too...

I'm a great fan of "benefit of the doubt". May we extend this to Susan as well?
