Noticed on med board someone asking where to post about kids. This is not a bad idea, or should it just belong on relationship or social?
Any takers for a parent's board?

Would you please consider a parenting board?
I am sure this will be valuable to many.
Please?
Sabrina
(Did I say please?)

It didn't take off last time, but I guess we could give it another try. But there hasn't been much interest expressed by others...

I won't be offended if it doesn't take off. As you said, we could give it a try?

Is that parenting is such a sensitive subject. I can see the possibility of people getting easily hurt - when no hurt is intended - by others opinions and/or advice.
Not to be negative, or say it's a bad idea, just something to consider.

Of course. I didn't even think of that as I was looking at it purely from a point of view of support and what a joy it is to be a parent.
I feel advice or opinions of others on *any* subject can sometimes unwittingly offend.
Makes me sad to think that a subject such as parenting could trigger or turn out hurtful when I see all the pain and hurt that futile political discussions bring.Oh well, whatever Dr Bob decides. If there is to be no parenting board, social will still be my home and I am sure I can still ask for advice there if I need it.

Oh, I still think it's a good idea.
People will have to learn that *any* critique of someone's parenting skills can be hurtful and act accordingly. It is a sensitive area that might need more thoughtfulness.
I would probably respond and pass on anything I've learned over the years.

How 'bout a compromise - a board on how to tutor current affairs to kids.
^^^^^^^^^obviously a joke..

And let me guess, if there are lots of votes then you will make a decision, oh, maybe next year???
Joking... Sort of...
I would like a vote for a current affairs board. Not instead of the other one, as well as I guess...

Considering I originally suggested it, I suppose that should count as a vote, but just in case...I would like to see a current affairs board. And I can see how some might like a parenting board as well. So I vote for both.
