Can offensive post lines be archived?

Posted by Shadowplayers721 on September 2, 2004, at 20:28:49

I am offended by seeing some post lines on social board stating the f word. Can it be archived? It's just looks bad to the outsiders of Babble world. If I saw that on the boards, I may not have joined.

I know that I am a person that likes pleasing interiors, so I understand if this is not possible at this time.

The more we post, the faster it archives.

Yes, Dinah, that would work, but it's hard for me to feel sociable when I see that word associated with my name. It's like a new slap each time I see it. :(

I don't blame you, gg. I must be getting old, but I am sick of seeing those vulgar capped words. Everytime I scroll down the page for new posts, they seem to scream. I never liked screaming. I have a soft voice, so I don't like anyone screaming at me.

You're right, and I'm sorry. :(

I was just being pragmatic based on prior experience.

But perhaps Dr. Bob could make an exception when one of the less socially acceptable cuss words is used in a subject line and delete the worst of the posts.

I'm sorry Dinah, I didn't mean to strike out at you. Heck, even if he left the post but just XX'd out the word, that might help. And it is a pragmatic idea. I did the same thing...posting like crazy on a bunch of threads on another site because a thread title was hurtful to someone. And then someone posted to it again, and darn it...had to start all over again. It's a lot of work, even for a highly verbal person!

:)

See gg's and shadows' posts on this. It does kind of scream at you.

Thanks for the reply, Dr. Bob. As you know, I never ask for something to be done without helping in the process.;) With that in mind, would it help if I just post new subject lines in the thread? Would that help archieve those offensive ones? I am ready and willing to so if this would help. I love helping with decor.

Any posting on that board would do it.
