I'm sure many have heard this story but here goes.
In wintertime, a man walking through the woods comes upon a frozen snake. Being a man of compassion, he takes the snake home and puts it in front of the fireplace and leaves food for it in hopes the snake will be alive and hungry after thawing out.
Later, the man sees the snake has eaten but the poisonous snake crawls out from under the sofa and bites the man. As the man is dying he asks the snake how he could do that after he just saved the snake from dying.
The snake said, "I'm a snake, it's my nature."Let me paraphrase my only authority, Jesus Christ.
(The real one, not the religious rights)
If any of you, as my followers, go into a village to spread the good news and you are shunned or ridiculed, dust yourself off and continue your journey to spread the gospel. In other words, don't look back; don't let it get you down.
Almost simultaneously, on 2000, I was graciously thanked by an old babble friend for being of help when hope had all but gone. I come here and bob tries to explain what a troll is and PBC's me for trying to express anger(OH, MY GOD!). I said how I saw the sick anti-Semite and bob, for the umpteenth time, in the name of nobody arguing or breathing fresh air into the subject of evil tries to bury the subject and talks down to me as if I just hit town riding on a truckload of turnips.
If you want to talk, contact an expatriot, of which I am one.
If you think doctors are smart because they are doctors, let me tell you about my history. After 20 years and 5 pdocs and me asking if I might be bipolar to them all including my current one, my doc prescribed Zyprexa yesterday saying I might be bipolar.
Go with your gut here people but never blindly follow someone, especially if hundreds have begged for change here and were either given long vacations or left in utter frustration. Never say, but he tries, he tries. Try to stand up from your chair. You stood up, right? Silly question, maybe.
The only evidence of real trying is change that is obvious, real, and visible. You'll wait forever here for real and positive change. Dr. Bob when just offered help, is already subtlely saying he doesn't want it. (Don't want anyone to be burdened.)
If your gut tells you I'm wrong, it's none of my business what you think of me.
To my friends and enemies here over the past however many years, thank you.

I'm sorry, Phil. Of course the most important thing for any of us to do is what's best for our own mental health. If you feel you need to leave, then I'll miss you and your humor and your irreverence, but that's what you need to do. You know my email address, if you'd like to say hi, or just vent.
Maybe someday you'll feel free to come back. I know I'd always be glad to see your name.

Phil - I truly hope that nothing I said in the brief discussion of evil added to your current unhappiness.
Please take care of yourself. Perhaps I will run into you on another board? I don't know of another which is administered like this.

Phil, I'm sorry to see you go. I only wish I could have gotten to know you better. But do know that your words will be archived. And maybe, just maybe that change will come. If it does, or doesn't I hope that you will change your mind about leaving and we'll see you back one day. I believe we're all thinking about you. Stay safe, ok hun!?!

Phil,
I hope you will maybe visit so we'll know that you are ok. I'm lucky to have been here to get to know you over the years, and you've added so much to PB. Your humor is really a mainstay when things are black, and you've made me laugh when I didn't think that sound would ever emanate from me again.Saying the hard stuff, another hallmark of yours, does PB good, and I appreciate you doing it so consistently even though it feels like a losing battle and you end up paying the price alone. The irony of you being blocked after you've said you're leaving is not lost on me, and lends credence to what you've been saying.
I will miss you greatly, and want you to know how much I support you and all you have done to try to make PB a better place. I will be in touch with you, which is really my only solace.

And this site is to promote good mental health?
Phil leaves and someone else is afraid they will get blocked if they express their feelings.....I'm self-blocking again....at times I think I can hang here and be supportive to people and then it's like trying to swim upriver........Good luck all..........Pat

phil - just when i was thinking it was ok to partcipate more actively....
I'm saddened belong belief. This site will be considerably diminished on account of your absence.
There are tricks to taking advantage of the benefits of participating on this site without putting your own peace of mind at stake. It's sometimes (lots of the time) a struggle to keep that balance. I'm sorry the balance shifted for you. Please never say never. You've burned no bridges here and your return, even a brief return, will always be welcomed.
This is really horrible.
Please take care

mair,
Fact is, I need this board and the great people here. You too, Dr. Bob(now I had to get a jab in-it's my way of saying you are okay in my book, okay?)
I think the world of you, mair. Your post touched me. It sealed the deal.
In the words of the great 20th century writer...Don Henley(HAHA)"..besides, all my friends are here. Down at the Babble Grill, down at the Babble Grill."
Many people said some nice things about me, I can't leave...nobody in real life says that stuff.
*Under the arm wind passage...pffffft.Thanks for leaving the light on for me, Dr. Bob.
Yours truly,

THANKSSOOSHI!!! You were too much fun. I think we'll have lots to talk about.
After 20 med-years, I presented w/ bipolar stuff at my pdocs'. She even awarded me a PTSD medal finally. I earned it and certainly don't want to diminish the seriousness of it.
She recommended 2-4 months off of work(I haven't heard from anyone at work so they may have given me eternity). I thanked her for the note and her and her pdoc husband don't even mind me camping in their yard as long as I quit building campfires. woohoo!
By the way Sooshi, got any marshmallows?Phil
