Sooooo... What is the deal with PB Open? Looks like a great resource. Wonderng why it's been relegated to the dust bunnies and mothballs.

Its, just as you said, an extra resource. Dr Bob set it up for such time as when PB went down, or people wanted to use the real time chat facility. It also stores some folders of information that members of PB have set up.
Its not been relegated to "dust bunnies and mothballs." as you say.. I don't understand why you say that at all actually, when you ask what it is, so obviously don't understand its purpose.

I think that like me and many others, Jeff just doesn't understand why it isn't being used. There is an ongoing thread in PBS, trying to utilize Open. I'd like to use Open, but am not familiar with it.

What do you mean by "utilise"?
messages are only posted there when PB is down.. that was its orginal purpose. It would be too much for it to work as an extra message board I think.
People can use the chat facility.. I'm just guessing no one is inclined to.Nikki

Thanks for clearing up my confusion :) I may be inclined to use it as a chat facility, but it wouldn't do much good to chat alone.

Well, PB Open is more "user led".. so its up to the users of PB to add stuff really.. if theres some info you think would be useful there, be all means, add it.
And there is alot of useful info the folders there that people do access quite regularly I think.. so just because theres not been stuff posted there, doesn't mean its obselete (or "in the mothballs").. and its always there incase PB goes down!! (which it was doing qute a bit in the days PB Open was set up!!)
