Dr. Bob,
I recently recieved a post from Oreilledemouche, the link to his post is below. In it, he/she ended the letter with "à plus tard ..." I am not familiar with this phrase, but have taken the meaning as, "A+ Retard" "tard" being short for retard. If this is the case, I am offended. I do not appreciate my intelligence being insulted by other posters. I have also included the post link of the message I wrote back to him below. Another question I have is whether or not fellow posters are allowed to reprimand another poster. Is Oreilledemouche another administrator? Do other administrators who oversee these boards identify themselves as such? Your response will be greatly appreciated.

"a plus tard" is French for Very Late I believe.
Nothing to do with retard. I think the accent over the A made it clear it was a foreign language..
I don't speak much French at all (I looked this up), but recognised it as not being English, so investigated further.I've never even heard of tard being used instead of retard *shrugs*

My French is strictly of the schoolgirl variety and long forgotten, so I'm not at all familiar with French idiom. But I have been told that it means "See you later" or "Till later".

My french english online dictionary was not up to the challenge. But typing "a plus tard" into google and then translating, it does translate as "later".

I think my translation was alot too literal!! *l* But I got the late bit right *lol*
And, I did fail French terribly!!
Thanks Dinah. I never even saw anything like what Elle saw, and I am really shocked that that could have been seen in such an innocent comment.

Oreilledemouche was just saying later in French, try not to let it get to you. It was an innocent statement.

I feel this message written to me (if you read all the threads) is an uncivil one. I believe Oreilledemoucheml is inferring in his latest post to me that Kristin (Galkeepinon) and I will get along perfectly because of her previous troubles on this board. This is not only insulting to me, but also Kristin. I do not appreciate his postings to me, and DO NOT want him to post to me any further. What do I do to ask him to stop posting me messages? I am not a complainer, but when I feel I have been insulted, I expect something to be done about it.
