Any acceptable reasons for changing a name?

Posted by KimberlyDi on October 10, 2003, at 16:35:54

I've been more and more uncomfortable about using my first and middle name as my "Name" though I'm not sure KDi in Texas (how I usually sign out) is any better.

I just wondered if there were any acceptable reasons to change? Though someone could impersonate me if I did, not that anyone would want to, and I can't retain 2 names I don't think... So just in theory, are there any acceptions?

I don't think anyone should have to justify what they are called or the need to change it. Period.
No one is who they say they are, anyway. We are all blond, thin, a runway model beautiful in cyberspace.

That said, I needed too as I was being harrased.

If people are being rude, deal with it.

Opps, what I mean is deal with it in the framework Dr Bob already has.

People need to feel anonymous here as this is
a ***mental health board***. The ablility to change your name allows one to feel more
anonymous.

I'd like to redirect this thread to the above one with the proposal:

http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/admin/20031008/msgs/266718.html

Where all reasons would be acceptable...
