Dear Dr. Bob and Admin folks,
I have recieved two different follow ups to a thread I started last week that contain the phrase sympatico.ca. Both times I tried to reply to these emails they were returned with..ooooh ;)
"fatal errors". The first time I thought it might just be me, now I think it might just be you!
Can you help me?

I think the e-mail notification system is just to tell you more people have posted on the thread but it is not intended that you rely to the e-mail to post to the board. You would need to do that via the web page.

Sorry, these were emails? Who were they from? What were they about? If you forward them to me, I'd be glad to take a look. But though emails from me (and the server) are hopefully somewhat simpatico :-) they're not from a sympatico.ca email addresses.

I'm sorry, I will try to do a better job of explaining.
On the Psycho Babble board, under thread heading "Afraid of the Cure" (that I started) I received two responses, one titled "Re:linkadge" dated 08-16 and one titled "Re:maryhelen" dated 08-17. Both responses included requests that I email them at addresses that were similar ie..thague@sympatico.ca and linda@sympatico.ca. In retrospect the addresses obviously appear to be incomplete, but I assumed they were a special email address set up by psycho babble as a forum for more personal and private communication. Both addresses when used resulted in my email being returned with "addressee unknown" or something to that effect. I have since made contact with linkadge on this site and his reply included a new address. But I (perhaps incorrectly) assumed since reponses on this site contained addresses from 2 different people, both including the phrase @sympatico.ca, (as I said above) that it might of been a forum of this web site.
This may be a impressive fluke that we will not be able to sort out in this context.
Any light you can shed will be appreciated. Let me know if I can be of further assistance. The thread, headings, and dates are listed above.
Thanks
Ima

They both just happened to use the same email service provider, which is independent of this site. It could just as easily have been AOL and @aol.com.
Also, they weren't necessarily incomplete, addresses often stop working because people switch to something else. Like regular mail gets returned after people move.

There were alot of ISP problems last weekend and earlier this week. I have retried one of them and it went through okay.
I thought they were incomplete because all email addresses have to end in .com or .org (which made me think they might be in house)
Ive never heard of .ca (lot of things Ive never heard of :)
If they were from aol, wouldnt they end @aol.com?
Oh well. Every thing is flying much better now. Couldnt even get to my ISP a few days ago.
Thanks for looking into it.
ImaThanks for all your efforts. This sight is so active, you must have your hands full keeping up with it. All & all, it seems to go pretty smoothly.
Thank you
