I think this board is run very well. Its balanced and fair.
Polling is a silly idea. Imagine having people poll you from a board just for having a different opinion.
This is Dr Bob's site and we should abide by his rules, if you don't agree with them then start up your own group.
It's sad though to see posters like Cam W leave though, I miss him !! Hope he comes back.

I'm not sure if he'll come back and it will be sad if he doesn't but I personally think it would be good for him to stay away for awhile. He is a staunch defender of people's individual rights to make their own decisions but he is passionate about making sure those decisions are informed. There is so much misinformation here at this site (and everywhere else) and Cam takes it upon himself to correct or expose this misinformation and then is, himself, derided and railed upon and blocked. I don't blame him for getting a little pissed off. It seems an impossible task, changing the world, but Cam continues to try.
He is an extraordinary individual.(The preceding is just my opinion, of course.)

***********************************************I am fairly new to Psychobabble, and I agree that it is run very well. Before I registered at Psychobabble, I had read, and participated in, the AOL message boards and the Usenet groups. Psychobabble is such a vast improvement over those other boards. There's just no comparison. There are a few helpful posters on the other boards, but in general, the overall level of discourse is low. There is too much off topic posting, and I found that there was an awful lot of "co-dependent enabling" (for lack of a better expression). I finally gave up on Usenet "Support" groups when I found someone actually trying to sabotage my attempts to pull myself out of a rut I'd been in for a long time. Fortunately, I was able to talk the problem over with my psychiatrist, and I extricated myself from the group and from that poster. The usenet group title "alt.support" is a misnomer. I've decided that, as far a mental health support groups are concerned, it's absolutely essential to have a highly qualified monitor.

It must be a load of hassle, between the routine admin and the disputes about how its run.
