Hey Bob,

I'm just curious if you have any reservations about further fragmenting the boards? Seems like it could cause a problem. Do you plan to maintain the same guidelines for civility? And last, will you be putting a link at the top of the page for this location?

So many questions, so little time...

What kind of problem?

Yes, people need to be civil here, too. And yes, I do need to add those links, thanks for the reminder...

Actually two that I can think of.

The further impact on your time. Having an additional board to monitor cannot be an easy thing to have to do. I do appreciate it though.

And the division of the members here. I recently looked around the PB and PSB boards and could identify only three cross-over members at the time (posters to both boards). I must admit that I very rarely look at the PB board these days. I didn't like the idea of PB being split up originally (and still don't to a certain degree). I felt that we could all interact socially and medically on a single board. And now we have a division among the posters on the PSB board. I spoke over the weekend to a friend who runs a board similar to yours (he asked not to be identified here and I will respect that). He runs an abuse survivor board. We talked about about all of the fighting and arguing taking place here and he just chuckled. His comment was that, historically all boards, especially those dealing with health issues go thru this type of thing during this time of year (Sept thru Feb). It is an extremely stressful time of year for a lot of people and is to be expected. He handles it by monitoring conversations, giving warnings to those who go over the top, and banning some members if necessary. But he tries to give as much latitude as possible in letting people work out their problems on their own. He says that most usually do. And many become very close friends by working out their problems on their own.

I guess that my concern is, if the boards continue to be split up, how are we ever going to learn to get along together? I hate to think that more and more of us will set up camp against those who we perceive to be "enemies" and that we will be given a forum to do exactly that. Although I'm sure that was not your intent, it may seen that way by some. We need to be brought together, not pushed apart.

I know I'm being a bit dramatic here, but there is a lot at stake.

Greg

I guess my feeling about "division" is it's up to the individual. If they're only interested in medication issues, they're not going to appreciate PSB-type posts. And customer satisfaction is important. :-)

Well, the people on each board will still have to learn to get along with each other...

FWIW, I would like to interact with both PB and PSB issues, but find that it is too time consuming to follow more than one board. Maybe my access here in the UK is slow, but it is tediously slow just working through one board. In fact I can't even keep up with one on a regular basis because it is just so slow.

So I only come to PB when I am desperate for some answers, and find that getting involved in discussions soon ballons out of control for me.

This is not an issue of addiction or cost (I have free access), just that it can take a couple of hours just to scan the board and make 2 or 3 posts because of slow access and difficulty following the threads. (On some othe boards I am used to an indented hierarchical display of the threads which is much easier to follow).

Leonardo.

Were you here before the big crash? Was it different then? To me, the site seems *faster* than it used to be!

I know what you mean, but I've always found *those* systems hard to follow!
