You might have heard on the news about the new pill, Fkibanserin, that was just approved for female sexual dysfunction. Ive read about how it works as a full agonist at the 5ht1a postsynaptic receptor, unlike mood meds like Buspar and Viibryd that work as a partial agonist at it. Flibanserin was actually intended to be a depression med when its development first began, but eventually switched to bbeing developed for sex problems. It works on the same receptors that mood meds target.
Anyway, might a full agonist be better for mood problems than the partial agonists we have today? Might it actually be better for anxiety than Buspar?

I had read about Brintellix being a near full 5ht1a agonist. I didnt benefit from Brintellix, i still think a full agonist, like Flibanserin, might be more beneficial in some cases when it comes to mood problems. That is if one can find a doc certified to prescribe it. FDA is requiring special training before a doc is allowed to prescribe it, and for a pharmacy to be able to fill it.
