Hi, I was finally sleeping well again and then I started taking Zyrtec for my allergies for a few days. Once I stopped taking it, I have not been sleeping well. Has anyone had withdrawal insomnia from taking Zyrtec?

Certainly sounds plausible as cetirizine (Zyrtec) is an antihistamine

I remember a remeron doing this to me when I got off it and that's an antihistamine so who knows.

Sleepiness is one of the side effects so guessing you slept well due to this and now off the med not sleeping as well. How come you went off it? And what other meds do you take? Phillipa

I actually didn't sleep well on it and I was only on it for a few days. I also take trazodone and Luvox. If trazodone works on histamine receptors that could explain the problem. However, I've read about a lot of people on the internet complaining of withdrawal from Zyrtec causing insomnia. Who knows.
