So, I drank a "tincture" made with Marijuana when I was at a friends house on the 12th. I figured since I'm about go have ECT done, I will go ahead and give this marijuana drink a try. I've never been a user of Marijuana, and was a small amount and it didn't really make me "high" at all. But then I realized that marijuana lowers your seizure threshold. And since I'll be having ECT in about 2 weeks, I don't want my threshold to be increased.
I tried researching this, but couldn't find anything. So, does anyone have any info on how long marijuana increases your seizure threshold? Does it only increase it while you are "high"? Or is it a bit of a lasting effect? THANKS!

Yeah Phillipa, I think its about 30 days for a blood test. I've been reading many articles and have read different contradicting info. So I'm not positive. I'm wondering if they'll do a blood test to see what's in my system before I do ECT?

Low dose, one off, ECT not for 2 weeks. I don't think it will make any difference to your treatment at all.

Marijuana does not lower seizure threshold. In fact it has been shown to treat seizures.

I had decided to try it after his dad had gone into detail about some of the medical conditions marijuana has been shown to treat, including epilepsy (as well as mood problems). And after I drank it, I remembered I'm supposed to be having a seizure induced in a bit over 2 weeks. I just want it to be easy to induce a seizure so that they don't have to use higher "doses" of ECT.
But I'm thinking it shouldn't be a problem.
