I know this sounds weird, but this is kinda new to me....
It seems that while Xanax is "the" medicine for this condition (and I've been taking it for GAD anyway), no amount of it seems to make me comfortable leaving the house. Yuck.
Is that true? I know meds are only part of it...

How long you been taking the Xanax? Mine worked for about 30 years. Then it just made me tired. I think you have to bite the bullet and go out with someone. Is the situation at home really bad. As you may find when out you feel better. This happens to me. Phillipa

Xanax isnt "the" medicine, any more than of the others are
SSRI's and clomipramine can be very usefull on their own or in addition to Xanax

Agoraphobia is sort of an OCD thing and benzos aren't used to treat OCD. ADs and therapy are used to treat OCD.
