What would the potential draw backs be with this combo?
Here's my current line up: 1200 Trileptal, 20 Prozac, 30 Abilify, up to 300 Neurontin, as needed.
My doc just wants the Prozac in there for the next couple months. I need something to prevent a recurrence of psychotic depression (that's my big mood problem in my bipolar I).
The Trileptal cannot be increased. The Neurontin cannot be increased...in fact, my doc only wants me on it PRN. I don't really want a second neuroleptic.
So, I was thinking, 100-200mgs/day Lamcital, and drop the Prozac? I know lamictal helps prevent bipolar depressive episodes, but what about psychotic depression? I don't mind the Prozac, but my doc is old school, so she's worried about mood instability and drug induced activation over the long haul.
What do you guys think?

trileptal's great for anti-agitation, anti-(hypo)manic action, but not so great for depression :-(
I hear low dose Abilify is good for depression, but I have to take a higher dose. Doesn't seem to cause depression (thank God!), but it doesn't help prevent it, either. So...I was hoping for something (not an AD) that would help prevent a lapse into severe and/or psychotic depression.
