I am sure this has been asked before, and I am slowly but surely researching it, but just in case anyone wants to share -
anyone have any experience with St Johns Wort? I went to psychiatrists for years, mostly to get clonazepam, and I got celexa while I was there, but now that I am off clonazepam I am wondering if I can switch from celexa to St Johns Wort.
Anybody ever switch from an ssri to St Johns Wort?
I am curious for your experiences switching (does it require a taper? A washout period? Can you just stop taking one and start the other?), your experiences with side effects compared to an ssri, any concerns about tyramine containing foods, or drug or alcohol interactions, etc.
I always have horrible withdrawals when I stop celexa so if I could switch from one to the other without a washout period, that would be nice.
Thinking St Johns Wort might be worth a try since I think celexa helps me, but not that much, and I am tired of going to pdocs who usually come across as incredibly mercenary, which is just a depressing and humiliating experience.

I am pretty sure St. John's wort is an SNDRI (with an effect on serotonin the most). It's slightly different than the AD's, and probably weaker, so idk if you could just switch over like that
