Ok so I'm trying to decide whether to take 1mg of Risperdal or 75/150 mg of Lyrica for severe anxiety. I'm a little hesitant towards taking Riaperdal because I'm already taking an antipsychotic - Abilify, although if it comes to it ill take it, cause I'm in a lot of emotional pain right now. Now a while back I came across a forum where a bunch of people were complaining that they suffered memory loss that did not get better once they stopped the Lyrica. Although I mean who knows how reliable that source is. But anyways that scared me out if trying Lyrica. But now I'm reconsidering it because I have read such good reviews in terms of how effective it is. Ok so my question if there's anyone who has taken Lyrica, how bad was the memory loss/ cognitive impairment if any? And if you eventually got off this med did you ever regain your memory and or cognition. If so to what extent. And if anyone knows how bad the weight gain is with Lyrica please inform me. Oh and did you have emotional numbness at all, like where your emotions become less intense? If you are able to answer any of these questions it would REALLY help me out, as I'm going crazy trying to decide which drug to take. My pdoc is open to both. Lastly would anyone here actually prefer one drug over another? Again if you have any insight PLEASE share it with me. Thank you so much!!!

If you search the achieves there was a time when lyrica was very popular on babble. I know of no one that had memory impairment. It's used a lot of diabetic neuropathy. Which would mean to me that endos also prescribe it for other reasons. I have heard of some with swelling. Phillipa

If you're alreadfy taking an antipsychotic, I'm not sure that 1mg of risperidone is going to have that much benifit for you.
I'd probably start with lyrica with or without either an SSRI or mirtazapine
As a short term crutch, a benzodiazepine can be very effective for anxiety

So does anyone know how likely it would be to get permanent memory loss from Lyrica? Has anyone here been on Lyrica?
