I simply refuse to see any docs of any kind any more. Every time I've seen on in the past 15 years they find something else wrong with me. No physical in over can't remember how many years, no ob-gyn in 6 years what for? Endo doesn't listen so why bother and yes have tried others, No taste and Smell means sugar in all forms as food dont taste it either, varicose veins on tongue unheard of according to ENT last summer, blood coming from mouth ENT didn't know why. So what is the point in doctors? Didn't or did who knows corrrectly diagnose the lymes, fears of going or doing a thing, fears of sitting still, conking out when hit the bed at 1am now getting earlier all the time, forgetting to take meds, does this mean I'm dying as feel like am. The sime pleasures of life I remember are gone. I can't even feel love anymore too many hurts. Phillipas rant for the day.

Philippa, you may well have PTSD. I have been researching Prazosin, because of Scott's success with it, and what I have found is very interesting. It is not just used for nightmares, but is being actively studied for daytime control of both anxiety and depression. It's pretty safe and well-known. The one big problem is postural hypotension, which can usually be well- controlled with low doses at first, getting up very slowly, and, perhaps most important, maintaining good hydration. What do you think? Promise me you won't just immediately reject the idea!

Sorry haven't been around. I took this in the past as a diuretic for PMS. So I know it's a bp med. Diazide I think the potassium sparing one. I will google and see what comes up since I took it. Phillipa

Yes, you really ought to do more research from now on if you still wish to pursue improving your mental health.

Phillipa, if you're feeling like this, i realy think you need a second opinion from another shrink, it sounds like your anxiety and depression still need some work. I'd get a referal to a new psychiatrist and see what s/he suggests, changing your antidepressant, adding a second antidepressant, changing or increasing your benzo, a course of CBT. Never hurts for a fresh set of eyes to look over a problem.
