Namenda (memantine) increasing dosage?

Posted by ceebee on July 28, 2012, at 13:28:15

For OCD, Panic Disorder, and attention deficit issues (probably related to OCD/anxiety).

I should note that I myself have been at 15mg for about a week now (after going down from 20mg). I went back down to 15mg from 20mg because after 16 days at 20mg, I was still having the feelings of depersonalization/derealization and high anxiety.

I am toying with the idea of trying to up it back to 20mg. In part because I think I might better tolerate it having giving myself a longer adjustment period at 15mg. An additional thought I had would that it might be better keep a stable dosage BID, rather than 10 in the morning and 5 at night. Lastly, since I have to get my regular, non-schedule II drugs via mail order, I have 180 10mg Namenda pills, and I hate breaking them in half because my breaks are not always consistent (and the pills aren't scored).

What do you guys think?

Other medications:
Vyvanse 50mg, Toprol XL 50mg (both once daily in the morning)

I'm concerned about tthe amount of anxiety the memaantine is causing you. If you go up to 20 mg, you may experience a significant increase in anxiety.

Do you have anything for anxiety?
