Going to as my dr today. Still on Tegretol. The dr may want to switch me to lithium. My concern is the problems I'm having on Tegretol are the same problems I had on lithium, terrible racing thoughts. The meds don't cause it but they don't help. To swap lithium for Tegretol in my mind would be a swap of equals. What I need is an add on to control racing thoughts. Don't know what to ask for when I go this afternoon?

I tried it last year for a few weeks last year and it didn't help. Maybe it needs more time?

I'm going to try an extended release welbutrin. I tried welbutrin in the past and couldn't sleep a wink. The dr said the extended version should help. I'm skeptical but will give it a try. Thanks for asking fb.

Did the doc say why er might be better? I imagine more stability. Will you take it once a day?
Good luck with this. Will keep my eyes open for treatment for racing thoughts.
