ok. so friday i went to pdoc and i told him when i started feeling really good (a couple weeks ago) and talked about some other stuff. then he looked concerned but i though it was good news.
he told me that he thinks i might have SAD (seasonal affective disorder).
which here's where this confuses me.
1) i thought SAD didnt get as severe as my depressions have in the past.
2) i have previous dx with Bipolar-mixed and psychotic depression. does this change my diagnosis completely or add to it?
3) so is this good news or bad compared to past info?
4)the only thing that scared the h#ll out of me was he said that if it is SAD then both mykids will have it and i'll need to watch out for them... :(
on that point i hope to no end that its NOT true.
that i do not have SAD.any info helpful

Sad in itself would be good news to me. That you children would also have it. I've never read or heard anything about that. Maybe a predisposition but I'd have my doubts about that. Did you ask if totally new dx? Phillipa

we didnt have time to cover anything else. he had px waiting.
and i had to cover refills.
but he was the one that said that with SAD there is a strong hereditary gene. so i would need to really watch them.
he didnt say 100% i had that but he stated that he was suspecting this. and just incase that i had to increase exercise over the summer so that i would be exercising 1 hour a day by winter.and he would be watching out for this.
he said a way to really test this is in dead of winter take vacation to sunny spot and see.
but for me just taking a fricken vacation would be enough to make me happy! LOL we can never seem to afford one.so thats why i'm asking this board. cuz i didnt have time to really explore with pdoc what this all meant.
so ill take any opinions.
