Hi...I was recently prescribed Effexor 75 mg (not XR) to take twice a day...just wondering how many hours should there be between dosages?

For most drugs, I like to divide them evenly throughout the day. With Effexor IR, I dosed it three times a day. Twice a day should be enough, though. Will morning and evening dosing work for you?

> - ScottYes, that will work, but I'm not always consistent with when I eat and I was trying to take it with food, but that may mean a late breakfast and a late lunch and no dinner, so thought maybe I wasn't spacing the doses out far enough. If I take one at bedtime, will it still be as effective for symptoms during the day, or better to take during the day. For some strange reason, and excuse this, but it gives me gas. It doesn't upset my stomach, just gas. Is that common?

I don't think it needs to be taken with food might get better absorption on empty stomach. Bedtime and 12 hours later? That way evenly divided. Phillipa just suggestion

Makes sense to me.
