Need help before I see doctor tomorrow. ugh

Posted by alexcanada on September 1, 2010, at 19:18:34

*edit, while writing this my sharp pains in chest got worse, needto go lay down*

Current Symptoms: Very unsocial, Tiredness, head cloudy, hard to concentrate, lack of emotions most of time, poor drive and motivation. Sometimes eyes have dark circles. Sometimes colors look dark and desaturated.

I take Parnate 25mg, Gabapentin 300mg 1-2 times a day, ritalin small dose 2-5 times a day, ginkgo biloba 60mg 3-6 times a day, valium low dose at bedtime (used to take it more often)

I used to feel a whole lot better compared to how i feel now on this parnate and those meds.

Today I feel in some unusual pain in my chest + stomache and my head. Ugh. I only felt this once on this combo while taking gingko. Maybe that needs to go.

But any suggestions on what to try? please to list more than 1 if possible because i been on quite a few things but i cant find my list right now.

ugh the pain is gettin worse, sharp pains in stomache and chest. i took ginkgo 5 hours ago tho. one of last things i took was gaba.

lot of dopamine meds im taking. can that be an issue and if so pls explain.

chest pain is over. not sure how long. i fell asleep in bed. but now... quite a few hours later i feel a sensation of yellow vision when i stand up or get up.... I felt this kind of feeling during my earlier days of parnate months ago. it was also a side effect that was around when parnate was working better. but right now it's quite hindering. when i go to the doctor in 14 hours i hope i wont be losing my balance and feeling in such a way.

gingko has helped a bit for my memory and little for sex drive but what's the point when i still feel lousy.

I did eat melted cheese sandwiches too around that same time. dunno if that is something that would be dangerous with MAOIs since I been able to eat similar ones before.

aside from horrible depression and social anxiety not sure if i have any health problems that are notable.

Apparently, tyramine levels in cheese are very variable - even in different batches of the same brand of cheese. You really do need to be careful with cheese.

Are you taking gabapentin for anxiety? I was just wondering whether it might be worsening your fatigue.

Maybe your having a heart attack??? Pains in chest, taking ritalin, which I belive is a strong stimulant. Could you have high blood pressure?? That would expain it. What I'm saying is it may not be the meds need a change. Stomack pains could be anything, like the pills eating up your stomake, or alcohol, or taking pills on empty stomake. Might want to check those things first.

I send Adam a Babble Mail and he didn't answer. My bet is that he is in the hospital. Poor guy. (:
I really hope he is okay.

hey. sorry i couldn't reply i was gone for 4 days. i didn't end up in the hospital.

ever since lowering my dose to 20mg parnate things have improved and gaba with 30mg parnate didnt seem to help but for some reason does at 20mg parn. it helps reduce the head pain usually quite substantially. it's been easier to think more clearly overall.

i'm far from feeling well but at least this is tolerable. i just need to find some sort of real augmentation. i been sleeping bit better now too for the most part. instead of feeling best during evenings i feel best now during early afternoon and mid-day. im taking parn at 8am and 4pm. i have no idea why each day feels a little different though. it's still very difficult to talk to people but better than 30mg parn surely. i haven't had any big chest pain attacks and extremely severe strange head sensations either since dropping the dose.

still feel as if my days are passing me by. so difficult to enjoy things that i used to get a bit excited about. Halo Reach (huge video game release) just came out and I can hardly even feel any urge to play it but I force myself to. Same with my video editing which I sometimes find fun. Head pain comes most during evening and night. I wish I knew how to better manage it because it always correlates to how I am feeling. The less pain... the more drive, motivation, concentration, creativity, energy I have.

Doctors of course are clueless towards it all. And I'm sick of them telling me to just go outside every day. I been outside and away from home for the past 4 days and I felt lousy for half of them. Acceptable during the other two.

Yes, sometimes lowering the dose helps. I guess when you read here about people taking 80 - 100 mg of Parnate you feel that you will need to go that high. Abilify might be a good way to augment the Parnate. I know that people do take it with Parnate and it helps. I take Nortriptaline to augment my Parnate and I know that it helps because one time I decided that I didn't need and so I went off it and I got much worse.

It really sounds like you are struggling right now. How long are you willing to stick with the Parnate? Do you have a back up med in mind?

Keep posting, ok?
