I've been taking Cymbalta 60 mg for several months now with no serious side effects. It has really allowed me to break out of a long depression and periodic acute anxiety. More recently, I've been diagnosed with ADD & prescribed Ritalin. I take 30 mg. I'm not in a hurry to get off either of these drugs since both have helped me a great deal, but I have been adding supplements with the idea that I might be able to eventually tapper down the prescription drugs either to a low dose or eliminate them altogether.
So here are my supplements, as of now:
2400 mg fish oil
multivitamin
B complex with 10 mg B6, 25 mcg B 12, etc
2000 IU of vitamin D3
2000 mg vitamin CI'm thinking of adding 500 mg of Tyrosine to support dopamine.
Does anyone see any potential problems with this combination?

I dunno anything about Cymbalta but I do know how difficult combinations can be. The thing is, I'm never quite sure.
For example, I took the following (first thing in the morning) along with agomelatine and I suspect they wrecked my sleep
withania
holy basil (might as well throw it in)
theanine
green teaor it might be the B vitamins with lunch.
Clearly my sleep is fragile, but can be made worse by almost anything. You might think that agomelatine and withania was a good idea.
So, yeah, I see problems all over the place :)
but I don't know what your problems are.Do you sleep well?

Sig, I sleep pretty well, though I usually wake up two or three times each night & sleep lightly. I've read that large doses of B6 & B12 can cause problems with sleep, but I haven't experienced that. I've only been taking the B-Complex for a week, though.
I'm trying to do everything I can to support the psych drugs I'm taking so maybe I can cut them back in the future. I'm also trying to do the right behavioral things, including staying engaged with people, so thanks for responding.

I think with supplements, we pretty much have to let our bodies tell us what is good or bad, what it wants or doesn't want. Of course, we have to try to something to find out.
Tyrosine makes sense. I would probably go for DLPA before tyrosine though. Does the same as tyrosine plus more, such as prolonging the life of your natural opioids.
I would strongly suggest using much lower doses than you can buy. You'll have to make your own custom doses. I wouldn't start any higher than 50mg on either of them, and increase by 50mg every 3rd day or so. For one, you don't want to rock the boat too much and potentially destabilize a good place you are in. Second, there are meds involved, so all bets are off. Easy and slow does it. In my opinion.
There are probably a lot of supps to consider. SAMe, Acetyl-L-Carnitine, and geez lots of stuff.

Bleauberry, thanks. This is very helpful. I've been taking the fish oil now for quite a while & I think it really helps promote general health & gives the psych meds something to work with. I've only recently started on the B-Complex, but it seems to have a mildly stimulating effect that helps focus & concentration. I'll look into DLPA -- don't know anything about it at this point. Thanks again.
