Well after a couple months, I have decided that Nardil is not my medication of choice, and maybe not anyone's medication of choice, if your symptoms are purely Social Phobia with no depression.
I took up to 75mg/day after a couple months and realized that Nardil does help you talk more, but does not relieve the panic/anxiety for me atleast in social situations.
Also, I incurred many side effects that are unpleasant such as... Weight Gain (25 lbs in 3 months), crippling insomnia where I can only sleep for 3 hours a night (with prescription sleep medication), Brain Zaps (if you dont know what this is, look it up its horrible), afternoon tiredness, and extreme sexual disfunction. I wasn't able to finish for 2 months on this medication, and also had severe migranes after sex. Ironic enough, I had no diet restrictions to this medicine, which is a plus for anyone taking MAOI's.
I went into this thinking that Nardil (the gold standard) for social phobia could really help me because my social phobia is pretty bad, but it didn't. I don't know if the Reformulation they did back in 2003 to this drug made a difference or not, I wasn't taking it back then, so I dont know. All I know is, if you have no depression symptoms and just social phobia, I don't think this medication will work for you. This is just my 2cents and doesn't pertain to everyone.

Hi.
Sorry you were not helped by Nardil. Does psychotherapy help at all? How about CBT?

Could it be Gad? In which case another med could be better and the theraphy could help. But on a plus good you're now depressed. Phillipa

I'm going to try another medication with a less side effect profile and see how it goes.

I'm sure you'll find something.
