Hi,
I don't remember the last time I woke up feeling refreshed...
AD-wise, I am still on 60mg Marplan and have yet to reach a final conclusion...have definately had some, uneven, response to it so far.
But with regards to sleep quality--I have been taking 30mg temazepam for a long time and am wondering about other hypnotics... Preferrably something that enhances (or doesn't suppress) sleep quality.
I don't think benzo wx from the temazepam will be an issue since I take Ativan during the day anyway..
Has anyone tried rozerem? I can't tolerate trazodone (too groggy and yucky in the morning) or antipsychotics (same thing--and they also scare the bejesus out of me.)
Can't afford OTC supplements right now...

Well--I was looking for something that could perhaps improve quality of sleep--benzos are known to disrupt/suppress REM sleep.
Mind you I'll still be taking Ativan during the day, but I wanted people's opinions on non-benzo options for hypnotics since I do wonder if decreased sleep quality has been a factor in my depression...

My opinion? I was given Rozerem back when I didn't have a benzo tolerance.
There's a reason why they (Rozerem) are not scheduled you know...my doc tells me that they work on the same systems in the brain that melatonin works on--so there is no abuse liability to the stuff.
And no, for me, it did not work whatsoever. Had a better reaction to dyphenhydramine (Benedryl) 50mg.

Try Gabitril. It improves stage 4 sleep.
