Least drowsy AP with low TD risk?

Posted by sowhysosad on April 27, 2010, at 13:00:38

Which atypical antipsychotic causes the least drowsiness, and also has pretty low TD potential?

Just contemplating trying a low-dose AP again for a neurological condition, but even the tiniest doses of Seroquel absolutely floor me!

Amisulpride, if you are ok with mailordering from Europe. Many including myself do that.

Limiting choices to just this one country, then I would say Abilify first, Zyprexa second.

Abilify didn't make me tired in the least. I was completely unaware of it in my body. Seroquel and zyprexa I needed to take before bed.

I got major TD from Abilify. Its not drowsy though. Hands could not stop shaking at work long enough to do work. Geodon was not TD. Gave me blurry vision and did not help my psychosis. I would say risperdal did not give me TD and was not sedating. Didn't stop me from holucinating. Zyprexa never gave me TD but its sedating. I take zyprexa and suggest it, but its sedating.

zisprasidone would probably be the other option, at moderate doses it is often energizing
