Ok I just got back from the neurologist today for my narcolepsy. I have had no help with phentermine and nuvigil 300 mg together so I was put on Adderol and Imipramine also known as Tofranil. Has anyone heard anything about the second drug? Is this combo ok with Tegretol XR? I told my neurologist but its frustrating because I CANT sleep and he says its ok if I cant sleep as long as I am awake during the day. I told him I am tired during the day and awake at night regardless of when I take the uppers as I call them. The Tegretol has no effect on my sleepiness nor does the Percocet. I hate that his theory of keeping me awake during the day will cause normal exhaustion for the evening has not worked for two months and he still wants to try it! JUST GIVE ME SOME SLEEPING PILLS !!! UGH! LOL!

Degenerated disks and a tear in my lygament, 'I think thats what it is called. LOL! As sad as it sounds, I am a percocet heavyweight. I can take a lot and go on with my life. I dont get tired as I have grown used to it after 5 years. My neurologist tried to say the same thing and just cut me off when I tried to mention to him that I havent gotten tired from Percocet in years. In fact, ig I take enough, I get wired. I have had a MSLT and confirmed that I have Narcolepsy so I am not really questioning the diagnosis just whether or not I should take an AD for cataplexy? In fact it really irritates me that I did not know that until after I payed for it because I wouldnt have wasted my money. I hate ADs and I refuse to mess my mind and weight up even more by taking them. We dont agree the ADs and I and if they work for others than that is grand but I still hate them for me.

I assume you mean Imipramine, right?
That's a tricyclic antidepressant.
I had it for a while and it was very sedating for me. In general all TCA's cause some sedation.
Maybe its the adderall itself giving you the insomnia...??

Have you ever been treated with methamphetamine (low dose). It's long acting and supposed to be smoother than some of the other amphetamines.
This is the end of the thread.
