My doctor is out of the hospital and he put me on 600 mg of Trieptal. I started it last night.
I can wait to lose the weight I gained on Lithium. My cognition is much better when I am off the Lithium which is good. I was getting worried there for a while.

Aw thanks. But even my endo said I need to lose weight. I gained 18 pounds on Lithium in one month!

Maxie I was on only 150mg of trileptal and no side effects. Know its a low dose. I'm sorry about your Mom. Phillipa

Thanks Phillipa. I don't know if 600 mg will be enough, but it's a starting point. When I was in the hospital in 2005/6 they put the trileptal up to 1000 mg. Some people need more, some people need less. It's such a gamble. I just hope it helps with the mood swings.
