Can I take trileptal with Parnate? And what is the URL to check interactions out on the internet. I think you use one Phillipa.

Maxie oh I google med checker. There are a few. The one I use has a place to type in your med and then click to right the name pops up and you click and it goes to the looking forward on the opposite side. Then you add another. And then you click for interractions. Love Phillipa

Thank Phillipa. I checked and trileptal and parnate are contraindicated because of possible serotonin syndrome. :( Damn!!!

Hi Maxie,

Wow, I've not posted on p-babble for ages. I couldn't find my old password so I had to re-register under a new but similar name!

I thought you'd taken Trileptal and Parnate together before? I could have sworn that you used to be on that combination. Anyway, the reason that Trileptal is allegedly contra-indicated with MAOIs is because of the structural similarity between Trileptal and the tricyclic antidepressants - some of which do interact with Parnate. I am not aware of any evidence that Trileptal actually does interact with Parnate.

Best regards,

Ed
