New Abilify questions...

Posted by Maximus on February 11, 2010, at 21:29:56

Hi,

I have been taking the Abilify 5 mg for 9 days now, with my Lamictal and Effexor.

I have more motivation. I move more and i feel more alert too. This is a big improvement compared to Zyprexa.

However, i feel more anxious too and it is more complicated to find sleep. Do these side effects go away with time.

I would appreciate some inputs. Thanks.

For me they got worse. I gave it 6 months. It has taken me 3 years to recover. I too tried to switch from zyprexa to abilify. I tried this 3 times. Not one of them went well. I lost a lot of sleep and felt unrested all day. I lost a job too. The anxiety stayed about the same. But was much worse than zyprexa. I had panic attacks where I felt like dieing. I tried all the abilify doses and the higher it was the worse I felt. I'll never try ablify again.

I tried Abilify after having been on Zyprexa for six months. Overall i think Zyprexa is the best choice. Abilify helps with mood and energy, but it also causes anxiety and other weird side effects. Zyprexa makes me relaxed and i can think clearly. It causes weight gain, but i take it in combination with Wellbutrin. With this combo i don't gain any weight, so its perfect for me.
