I thought of posting this on the neurotransmitters board but it has less traffic and I thought someone here could answer. What chemicals/neurotransmitters does Geodon act on and how? Other than other antipsychotics, are there any drugs that act on similar pathways/systems/neurotransmitters?

Geodon is almost like a cross between an antipsychotic and an antidepressant. As best as I can remember:
- D2 antagonist
- D3 antagonist
- 5-HT1a partial agonist
- 5-HT2a antagonist
- 5-HT7 antagonist
- 5-HT reuptake inhibition
- NE reuptake inhibition> Other than other antipsychotics, are there any drugs that act on similar pathways/systems/neurotransmitters?
You could combine a SNRI with Remeron and Buspar.

Thanks for your help Scott-- man I wish I would have thought of these things before I made the switch to Parnate. It would have been nice to try all my options before going through the washout, etc. That combo would have been an option, Savella, etc. Oh well, I guess there always would have been a combo that after the switch I would have thought "man, I wish I would have tried that." I'm glad I made the switch, but there's no way I'm going through the hell of washout again for awhile to go back and try these combos.
