HELLO
I am taking 700mg of seroquel xr for my depression and anxiety it has helped with my depression but has left me with agitated anxiety
i sure wish i new what to do

That's odd, because it's precribed a lot for anxiety. It knock out my anxiety right away. Maybe it's not going to help your anxiety. :(

Oh, yuck. AKATHISIA. Its a common side effect of Seroquel and can be treated well with ARTANE, 2-4mg twice a day. AKATHISIA manifests as feelings of agitation and restlessness. I get it as well and Artane zaps it.

I had akathesia from perphenazine (and older AP) and benadryl stopped it. It's a cheap, OTC antihistamine. Vigorous exercise also helped, but eventually I went way down of the dose of perphenazine. It was prescribed while I was in the hospital and my p-doc doesn't like it. Too high a risk of tardive diskenesia with these old APs.

I am taking 150mgs of seroquel and was up to 300mgs. I found that at every increase, my anxiety increased. I also wake in a panic every morningn since being on the seroquel. I don't think it has helped much with my depression and it is on my list of meds to try to get off. If it helps you with your depression, Maxine's suggestion certainly can't hurt you. Magnesium helps with constipation too I think.
